In the coming years, 2026, 2027, and 2028, we will be able to enjoy one of nature's most marvelous spectacles: total and annular solar eclipses. The last total solar eclipse visible from the Iberian Peninsula was in 1905, and now we can enjoy two more: on August 12, 2026, and August 2, 2027. In addition, there will be an annular eclipse on January 26, 2028.
This talk will explain this astronomical phenomenon, how to plan for it, how to observe it safely, how to take good photographs, and ultimately, how to enjoy and experience this remarkable event. I will share my experience observing 42 solar eclipses and we will discuss the upcoming eclipses that we can observe, photograph, and participate in various activities related to.
