The National Astronomy Commission, a collegiate body of the Ministry of Transport and Sustainable Mobility, established a working group in 2023, the National Eclipse Commission, in order to promote and coordinate activities related to the solar eclipses that will cross Spain in 2026, 2027 and 2028.
The National Eclipse Commission focuses its activity on four aspects: scientific popularization, education, scientific tourism and civil protection, and in order to develop its objectives it is structured in several working teams: territorial representation, education, assessment of observation sites, proam collaboration and citizen science, and internet portal.
